Privacy at a Glance

ValleySoft Disk Analyzer does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. All disk analysis runs entirely on your device. No internet connection is made. No account is required.

1. Introduction

Thank you for using ValleySoft Disk Analyzer, a PowerToys Command Palette extension for Windows developed and published by ValleySoft. ValleySoft Disk Analyzer helps you analyze and visualize local disk usage directly on your Windows device — showing you drive names, sizes, used space, and free space in a clear, intuitive interface.

This Privacy Policy explains what information ValleySoft Disk Analyzer does and does not access, how the app works, and your rights as a user. We are committed to being fully transparent: this is a privacy-first application, and we have deliberately designed it so that your data never leaves your device.

By using ValleySoft Disk Analyzer, you agree to the terms described in this policy. If you have any questions, please contact us at the details provided in Section 8.

2. Information We Collect

We collect no personal information whatsoever.

ValleySoft Disk Analyzer does not collect, request, access, store, or transmit any of the following:

  • Your name, email address, or any other personal identifiers
  • Location data
  • Usage statistics or behavioral analytics
  • Device identifiers, hardware IDs, or IP addresses
  • File names, folder contents, or any other file system data beyond disk-level capacity figures
  • Crash reports or diagnostic telemetry
  • Cookies or persistent tracking tokens of any kind

The only information the app reads is your local drive metadata — specifically drive letters, total capacity, used space, and free space — and this information is accessed solely for display within the app interface on your device. It is never transmitted anywhere.

3. How the App Works

ValleySoft Disk Analyzer operates as a PowerToys Command Palette extension for Windows. Here is what happens when you use the app:

  • You open the PowerToys Command Palette and launch ValleySoft Disk Analyzer.
  • The app queries your local operating system for drive information — such as drive names (e.g., C:, D:), total disk size, used space, and free space — using standard Windows system APIs.
  • This information is displayed visually within the Command Palette interface.
  • When you close the Command Palette, the session data is discarded.

No Internet Connection Required or Used

ValleySoft Disk Analyzer makes no network requests of any kind. It does not connect to the internet, does not contact any external server, and does not communicate with any remote service — not even for update checks, licensing, or error reporting. All processing happens exclusively on your local machine.

4. Data Storage

ValleySoft Disk Analyzer does not persistently store any data. Specifically:

  • No files are written to your disk by the app for data collection or logging purposes.
  • No databases, user profiles, or preference files containing personal data are created.
  • Disk usage figures displayed in the interface exist only in memory for the duration of your current session and are discarded when you close the Command Palette.
  • No data is ever uploaded to any cloud service, remote server, or third-party platform.

Any application settings or preferences saved by the PowerToys framework (such as window position or display preferences) are handled entirely by Microsoft PowerToys — not by ValleySoft — and do not involve personal data.

5. Third-Party Services

ValleySoft Disk Analyzer does not integrate with or use any third-party services. This includes, but is not limited to:

Category Examples Used by Disk Analyzer?
Analytics platforms Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude No
Crash reporting Sentry, Crashlytics, AppCenter No
Advertising networks Google Ads, Meta Audience Network No
Cloud storage / sync OneDrive, Dropbox, Firebase No
Authentication Microsoft Account, Google Sign-In No
Telemetry / diagnostics Windows telemetry SDKs, HockeyApp No

ValleySoft Disk Analyzer runs exclusively within the Microsoft PowerToys framework. Any data handling performed by PowerToys itself is governed by Microsoft's own Privacy Statement, which is separate from this policy and outside the control of ValleySoft.

6. Children's Privacy

ValleySoft Disk Analyzer is a general-purpose utility application available to all ages. Because the app collects no personal information from any user, it poses no privacy risk to users of any age group, including children under the age of 13.

ValleySoft does not knowingly collect, solicit, or retain personal information from children. Since the application does not collect data from anyone, no special age-verification or parental consent mechanisms are necessary. If you believe we have inadvertently received any personal information from a child, please contact us immediately via our issue tracker and we will address your concern promptly.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

ValleySoft may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this document and, where appropriate, publish the revised policy in the Microsoft Store listing and on our public repository.

We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Because ValleySoft Disk Analyzer does not collect your contact information, we are unable to notify you directly of changes — so please check the listing or repository if you want to stay informed. Continued use of ValleySoft Disk Analyzer after any changes to this policy are published constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.

8. Contact Us

If you have any questions, concerns, or feedback regarding this Privacy Policy or the ValleySoft Disk Analyzer application, please do not hesitate to reach out. We are happy to help.
